How exciting – Quintilian School has won a $100 Coles voucher for our #kitchengardenaprons Facebook post earlier in the year! Thanks to the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation for our beautiful garden aprons, and for inviting us to be part of this wonderful initiative.
The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that supports the delivery of food education in Australian schools and early childhood services.
Pleasurable food education is a fun, hands-on approach to teaching children about fresh, seasonal, delicious food so they form positive food habits for life
The Quintilian Garden is an important part of our school. Full of fresh vegetables and home to our resident free-range chickens the garden provides a plentiful bounty of fresh eggs and organic vegetables all year, as well as tying into our sustainability program.
Our chickens roam freely about our organic vegetable gardens and they are cared for by our children. The vegetable gardens provide educational value and demonstrate the connection between the recycling of waste, the chickens, and the growing of vegetables.
We are thrilled to be recognised by the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation for our wonderful garden!
